About

About

Being human can be weird, confusing and downright difficult. You may feel stuck in frustrating patterns that keep repeating – but you’re not broken, so I'm not here to fix you. Together, we can get curious about patterns that no longer work for you, that were shaped by trauma, neurodiversity or challenging relationships. I'm Amanda, and I focus on the deeper work – understanding the experiences and relationships that shaped you, so that therapy feels honest, meaningful and truly useful – not like a generic motivational quote. We'll go below the surface, and together we'll find creative ways to loosen the grip of those old patterns.

I primarily work with trauma, ADHD, and relationship challenges, plus depression, anxiety, shame, burnout, people-pleasing and sexual concerns. My approach is active, relational, trauma- and neurodiversity-informed, and integrative. I bring you openness, warmth and an upbeat sense of humour. This is personalized, collaborative work—not cookie-cutter therapy.

Some real talk: therapy can be uncomfortable. Growth usually is. But it can also be relieving, clarifying, and deeply worth the effort. I aim to offer a space where you feel seen, heard, valued, and supported while doing that work. If you’re curious, let’s book a free 20-minute consultation and see if we’re a good fit.

Availability & Policies

I am a Registered Psychotherapist and offer virtual sessions only to adult individuals. My practice is neurodiversity and LGBTQIA+ affirming, compassion-focused, relational, trauma-focused, and culturally sensitive.

My focuses include:

  • Complex and episodic trauma

  • Relationship challenges

  • ADHD and neurodiversity

  • Sexual concerns

  • Depression and low mood

  • Anxiety and stress/burnout

  • Family/relational conflict

  • Grief

  • Healthy communication

  • Self esteem

  • Perfectionism

  • Setting boundaries

  • Life transitions

  • Sleep problems

  • Suicidal ideation

I bring my openness and upbeat sense of humour into our sessions. My active approach is integrative and adaptable, because everyone needs personalized support.

I draw primarily on Humanistic and Psychodynamic modalities, but also on Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural interventions when needed. I hold a Masters in Counselling Psychology, and have completed trainings in Internal Family Systems Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Sex Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and for working with grief and trauma.

I engage in personal psychotherapy and weekly supervision as part of my personal and professional self-care. I cannot pour from an empty cup, and nor can you. This is part of how I ensure I can show up for you fully and mindfully.

I offer sessions between Wednesday and Saturday, from the late morning to early evening (EST). While I am flexible according to your needs, I initally suggest weekly or bi-weekly sessions, because psychotherapy is most helpfu if frequent and consistent.

Sessions are 60 minutes in length and cost $150 (no tax). I have a 24 hour cancellation policy. We can find out if we could be a good fit with a free 20-minute consultation.

I am governed by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO licence #10816), and am also a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP). I follow the CRPO's Code of Ethics, and PHIPA guidelines.
